The preparation Volume is a transparent sterile apyrogenic gel, which is available in two versions - without anesthetic and with lidocaine. The preparation is the densest filler in the Belotero ® line, which also includes products for smoothing wrinkles of different depths (Soft, Balance, Intense) and fillers for enlarging and correcting the shape of lips (Lips Contour and Lips Shape).

An intradermal implant Belotero Volume Lidocaine ® contains:

• hyaluronic acid - 26 mg/ml;
• lidocaine - 3 mg/ml;
• phosphate buffer solution with a pH of 7.0, which acts as a cross-linking agent.

The uniqueness of the filler, as well as other products of the line, is due to the use of Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM) technology in its production. Its essence is the inclusion of additional stages of cross-linking of hyaluronic acid chains and high purification from decomposition products of BDDE cross-linking agent into the product manufacturing process.

The patented method makes it possible to obtain an injectable gel that:

• evenly distributed in the dermis;

The indications for injections of the filler include:

• lack of volume in the area of the cheekbones, temples, cheeks, chin;
• sagging of tissues due to age-related changes or a sudden weight loss;
• nasolabial folds;
• marionette wrinkles;
• facial asymmetry;
• a drooping nasal tip, a nose hump.

The product is suitable for young (but not younger than 18 years old) and elderly patients with any skin type. The filler is not injected into the fine lines in the perioral and periorbital areas, breast and muscular tissues.

Procedure protocol

Belotero Volume Lidocaine ® injections can only be performed by a specialist with medical education, who has a good knowledge of facial anatomy and has been trained to work with the preparation. Before injections, the skin is cleaned of impurities and skin grease and treated with an antiseptic. The filler is unsealed in the presence of the patient and then injected with needles or cannulas into the deep dermis, subcutaneously or in the periosteum. The procedure is performed once, no additional correction or hyaluronidase injections are usually required.

Result of application

In addition to increasing the volume of the areas to be treated, intradermal injection of hyaluronic acid increases firmness and improves the overall condition of the skin. The effect lasts from 9 to 18 months, depending on the area where the procedure was performed, age, body characteristics and lifestyle of the patient.

Minor side effects in the form of swelling, bruising, thickening and discoloration of the skin in the injection area pass within a few days. To prevent unwanted effects, patients should not wear makeup on the day of the session, and it is recommended to minimize touching the face until the epidermis in the injection area heals. Alcohol and anticoagulants are prohibited. For 2 weeks it is necessary to exclude bathing procedures, sunbathing, intensive physical activity.
 

Contraindications

Contour plastics with Belotero Volume with lidocaine ® is prohibited if:

• individual intolerance to the components of the filler;
• pregnancy, lactation;
• low blood clotting;
• diabetes mellitus;
• autoimmune and oncologic diseases;
• skin infections in the areas of the planned correction.

Recent chemical peels or laser dermabrasion are also contraindications to filler injections.
 

Storage and transport 

The ideal environment for storing Belotero Volume Lidocaine ® syringes is a darkened room with no sources of heat or light. A temperature range of +2C +25C will help to protect the product from deterioration of the material.
